Feeling very proud of Roisin Boyle as she has got into the Senior finals round for the Young Innovator Awards for Tauranga/Western Bay with her BUOY FRIEND.
Roisin would love your vote for the "Peoples" choice award (see link below)
Roisin Boyle is a member of Omanu Beach Surf Lifesaving Club and her involvement in water safety for surf lifesaving carnivals has highlighted an issue with the setting of the buoys for water events.
This device (she has named the Buoy Friend) aims to improve the course accuracy for the competitors, aids improved set up time for the water safety crew and decreases the risk from injury that is caused by excess rope.
To vote for Roisin click on this link and select the Buoy Friend

Thanks Jamie Troughton of Dscribe Media Services and Alan Coates of Surf Life Saving New Zealand for your assistance.

Farewell to the awesome Ashley Cochrane as she heads off to Europe tomorrow on an adventure. Travel safe and come back to us soon Ash.
And it's welcome to Briar Merrett who is filling Ashley's shoes as Club Administrator / Sports Co-ordinator. Briar comes to us with a strong background in surf life saving so we should find the transition seamless. Please join us in wishing both ladies the best of luck.

Omanu Swim ClubThanks Ashley Cochrane We had a good turnout on Tuesday night and those there seemed to have enjoyed it, lots of chatting going on amongst them and lots of promises of coming back on Thursday. So Stefan must have made a good impression with helpful tips and can't have worked them too hard 🙂 Definitely a good place to start if you haven't been swimming much or for a while (in some people's case a long long while!).
