Omanu Swim Club

With a strong community focus, Omanu Swim Club caters to athletes of all ages and abilities.

Omanu Swim Club is closely aligned and very much a part of the Omanu Beach Surf Lifesaving Club. The goals, values and people are the same and our swim club is there to benefit  and support our members (nippers, lifeguards, and competitors) from general fitness to specialised training programmes .

If you have any questions or concerns at all please contact in the first instance info@omanuswimclub.co.nz.

Further information on Omanu Swim Club including latest news can be found here.

Squad Information

Our specialised swim programmes are developed under Omanu Swim Coach Stefan Swanepoel.

Training frequency and session times vary depending on ability as per squad information or can be individually developed in liaison with the Omanu coaches.
More information on our different squads can be found here.

We offer both morning and afternoon training sessions to those athletes that require additional work on their swimming.

It is expected swimmers are at the poolside 10 minutes earlier than your swim training start time, with the correct gear and a desire to be the best you can be.

Payment

Payments for the swim club are to be paid as a season fee and are due at the time of registration.

Thank you to everyone who has already made payments. Please note that this account is different from the Surf Club’s account, and payments should be made into the correct/relevant bank accounts.

Latest News

Thanks to all our fabulous swimmers and supporters over the summer months. Our swim sessions will continue through next week, with Thursday 13th being the last day of term and swimming for our summer months.

We are in the process of updating our webpages and we will let you know when these have been finalised. Hopefully, by the end of the weekend.

You can pop over and familiarise yourself with our Squads, the basic format of the squads will remain the same. A couple of changes will be:
# The Development Squad will start earlier, at 4.30pm (as
opposed to 4.45pm) and run for an hour.
# Both the Dolphins and Development swimmers will have the opportunity to swim up to four afternoons.

This is so the young swimmers who really want to step up their game and want to do well in their school swimming sports, be ahead of the pack come summer and Surf Life Saving competition season or want to compete in some entry level Swim Competitions, can put in the yards now and reap the benefits later.

If your child is busy with other sports and wants to continue with two swims a week, Stefan will continue to work with them to ensure they optimise their time in the water.

This morning was great - it was the first morning that it was warmer in the pool than out 🙂

Roll on winter with the steamy pool and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
